Elephant's Ear (or Alocasia macrorrhizos) is a plant species which actually refers to many aroids plants with big leaves. A common fixture in Singapore’s parks, neighbourhoods and streets due to its attractive and distinctively huge foliage. It can also be found on the fringes of forests or abandoned open land. It grows best in partial shade and requires a lot of water. Collections of Elephant’s Ear plants can be found in Singapore Botanic Gardens and HortPark.
